Monique Gaboury L.Ac,Dipl.Ac
I am a licensed acupuncturist with a master’s diploma in acupuncture from Middle Way Acupuncture Institute and certified by the National Certification Board for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (NCBAHM) as a Diplomate of Acupuncture.
Since 2019 I have trained in Alchemical Acupuncture, spearheaded and taught by Lorie Eve Dechar, acupuncturist, alchemist, and author of several books, including Five Spirits: Alchemical Acupuncture for Psychological and Spiritual Healing.
From 2023-2024, I received grief ritual training with Francis Weller, teacher, psychotherapist, alchemical grief tender, and author of several books, including The Wild Edge of Sorrow: Rituals of Renewal and the Sacred Work of Grief.
From 2024-2025, I received training in end of life care with Randine Anderson Lewis, doctor of Chinese Medicine, teacher, and author of several books, including Daoist Death Medicine: Navigating the Death Canal with Alchemical Acupuncture.
Like many who support other human beings through difficulty and change, my own early wounding catalyzed a journey into the complexities of what it means to be whole and connected in a world in which we have become increasingly disconnected from our bodies, one another, to our kinship with the natural world, and the authentic expression of our true nature.
As a young woman in my early twenties, I began to use art and writing as a means to track and give expression to the journey of soul, drawing upon mythology and archetypal studies to understand more about the deeper mysteries. In 1996, I began a meditation practice, which became the foundation that continues to support my inner and outer work in the world to this day.
I deepened and integrated my experiences through dreamwork, somatic movement, 5 Rhythms dance, diverse spiritual teachings, and seasonal nature based rituals, Over time, a deep calling emerged to support others in their own lifelong journey of healing and wholeness.
I went on to train as a massage therapist with additional training in advanced craniosacral therapy, where I learned to listen to the consciousness of the body and cultivate skills for sensitively engaging with its wisdom.
Later, I felt drawn toward Daoist philosophy and Chinese Medicine because of its depth and breath of understanding not only of the human body, but of the relationships between the cosmos, earth, and our own bodies functioning as a unified whole. They see that we exist in a meaningful universe where everything is purposefully interconnected (the microcosm and macrocosm), and have developed practices for engaging with the wholeness that we are a part of.
As I grow older, life becomes ever more mysterious. Ever more miraculous. Ever more precious. I’m still learning and becoming through life’s endless challenges, losses, beauty, and surprises. Some of my greatest teachers are my two adult children, my grandson, those who entrust their care to me, the ancestors, and Gaia herself.
